Area residents are invited to take a break from the Christmas rush and enjoy a trip back in time at an open house Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9 am to noon at the vintage Martin House, located at the corner of Jay and Head Sts in Churdan.
Every room in the house, including the attic, is decorated for the holiday season. Light refreshments will be served. A free will donation will be accepted for the Churdan public library’s building fund.
Santa Claus will be at the Churdan library Saturday to listen to children’s wish lists from 12 to 1 pm. The Lions Club Santa drawing will begin at 1 pm. Registration is at the library that day. Middle school students through adult winners will have a choice of a ham, a turkey or gift cards. Preschool and elementary winners will get to choose from Santa’s warehouse.
Also on Saturday, a vendor fair is slated from 9 am to 2 pm at the Churdan Community Room. Vendors will include Molly Blanchfield Beauti Control and Traveling Vineyard; Heather Fevold with Paparazzi jewelry and accessories; Shane Olson of Olson Ironworks; Cindi Van Horn with Tupperware; Beth Gerwulf with Beth’s James; Allis Smith with Monat hair products; Emily Rumley with Younique; Whitney Minnehan with Scentsy; Amanda Grout with Nerium; Ashlee Adams with LuLaRoe; and Brad Robey with Big Papa’s Catering.
The Churdan fire department and the Churdan library are hosting the event.
